At their first visit to Pediatric Cardiology of Long Island, most patients get an Electrocardiogram (EKG) and an Echocardiogram (Echo) to help the doctors diagnose your condition. In addition, there are other tests listed below that we may need to help us learn more about your heart.
Electrocardiogram (EKG)
Tells us about the electrical system of your heart
Echocardiogram (Echo)
Uses harmless and painless ultrasound beams to show us a picture of your heart.
Heart Monitors
When your EKG doesn’t give all the information we need, we will give you a heart monitor to wear.
Cardiac Catheterization (Cath)
This is a special procedure done under anesthesia where the doctor can close holes that shouldn’t be there and use balloons to make things a little bigger that are too small.
Stress and Tilt Tests
When more information is needed, we may need to schedule one of these specialized tests.
